Instead of interfacing with v8 directly, this PR lets you use
napi. This is the official way to handle this now (though the older methods still work).I tested this on windows and it still works as expected.
It's just more "sane" in my opinion.
The
node-api-headersin thepackage-lockis an optional package to supply the headers for getting IDEs to work nicely. though it is NOT required as gyp will generate it for you automatically anyway. it is not installed normally. it's just there in the lock in case somebody does download it.
