Communication protocols

The project should be able to support multiple protocols but since these protocols are not defined yet this part will be on ice for a bit. We could create a rudimentary protocol once we have some GUI going so we can at least try things out but there are some complexities with the protocol if we are going to transfer LERP sequences and such. These will have to be properly defined before a protocol can be established around them.
