Installation Woes

Been losing sanity trying my hand at compiling this.

But after getting to the end of Building The Binary and entering the runonce command Viewtouch opens up but sits at a "Please Wait" screen with "Unable to find jump target (-1,11) for Server in the top left. Is there a common mistake or any tips I can get?
I haven't compiled or built many programs before which has me convinced I'm just screwing something simple up.

Is your display 1920x1080?

This error message indicates that you are not running a 1920 x 1080 display. The ViewTouch github page mentions that this is the default resolution. I'll clarify this in a minute to explain that this is the required resolution.

Oh my gosh. I knew it must’ve been something that simple. I actually spent the last two nights redoing it over and over with Debian and Ubuntu. Even had ChatGPT walk me through it hahaha.
I will adjust my resolution or try another monitor and report back.

ViewTouch has exhaustive information about how to use it. Keep in mind that point of sale software, by its nature, cannot be used by anyone unless and until they complete the interface. Nobody can know what a customer's (user's) hospitality menu looks like except the user, so it's up to the user to complete the interface. The tool(s) and documentation one needs to do this are integrated into the ViewTouch software itself. In the screenshot I see that "Apply" is available to click on. Did you change the resolution and click Apply? Also the the product you want to use is this one: https://chipsee.com/product/aio-cm5-156/

That isn't the ViewTouch desktop.

I have steered ViewTouch on the Raspberry Pi toward microSD and away from eMMC, for several reasons.

I see that you're unable to download vt_data. That in itself would explain why you can't reach page one of the ViewTouch interface.
That you are willing to purchase the ViewTouch all-in-one tells me your interest in ViewTouch is serious. I do wish you had contacted me as your first step because keeping things simple and trusting in me to assist you is always a better course of action.
If you give me a little information then I am confident that we can steer you forward.
