How can I perform restic unlock each time before backup?

I found there is a new parameter : unlock for Restic-based volsync backup.

But the restic unlock would not run unless "unlock" was set to a different value.

Is there any possible to run restic unlock before each time backup?

The unlock parameter is actually designed that way so someone can't leave it on - it's intended to be run only when the user specifies they want to run an unlock one one particular restic operation.

I don't think it's safe to run every time, if you ever have another restic operation running against the same repo then you'd potentially be removing its lock file while it's still running.

If you're hitting issues with locks getting left behind, it might be worth investigating why this is happening (something getting killed off while the restic operation is running or some issue with access to the remote storage?) before resorting to unlock every time.
