OneDrive

Issue

• Files that are "Available when online" cannot be read if OneDrive is not running, not signed-in, or is paused.
• PoB must be able to read the following files:
  • Documents\Path of Building\Settings.xml
  • Documents\Path of Building\Builds\*.xml (or wherever the user has set in PoB's options)

Solution

• Ensure OneDrive is running, signed-in, and not paused.
• Verify that the files and folders are available by checking the File Explorer icons.

Examples of availability icons:

File/folder is always available

File/folder ONLY available while OneDrive is running, signed-in, and not paused

File/folder is unavailable!

Prevention

• When using PoB ensure OneDrive is running, unpaused, and signed-in. This will ensure that the files are readable in all circumstances.
• Additionally, you can make the Path of Building folder and its contents available regardless of OneDrive's status by following these steps:

1. Start/unpause OneDrive and sign in
2. Open your Documents folder in File Explorer
3. Right-click on the Path of Building folder
4. Click on "Always keep on this device". (If this option doesn't appear OneDrive isn't running.)

Note: If you later select "Free up space" on Documents\Path of Building\ or Documents, this setting will be removed.
