Use this issue or this BA thread to post working or non-working versions. This patch should work on most versions but only Windows 8 builds are tested for now.

For non-working builds, you may open up a separate issue.

Just checked and this build is inside "Late Vista or Early 7" umbrella which uses a diferent WPA that when license expires, it locks the system into "limited functionality" mode and breaks the timebomb when it happens (it literally does not set at boot so it effectively means no working timebomb nor anthing for this driver to patch). So it probably won't work after first boot.

Still, I will try. Better to check if there is at least tiny chance than to give up immediately. I have the ISO, now just gotta somehow install this thing.

Edit: Now I only have to wait until Rufus writes the ISO onto my slow flash drive

It may work and remove the timebomb from kernel, and let you use it forever until next reboot or shutdown. But on the next boot, WPA kicks in and puts the system in "limited functionality mode", which as a side effect, breaks the normal timebomb so it leaves nothing for this driver to do.

It looks like this. And you can keep using normally by executing explorer.exe from internet explorer, but some sources say that it reboots each hour (unlike normal timebomb which reboots every two hours) though I didn't test it myself.

edit: I got this on Vista RC (build 5536) too by the way, so it exists from Vista RC through at least 6574. Maybe it's possible to get over this with a crack like Windows Loader by daz(?) but I didn't test it either.

Okay so here is an update: It appears that windows refuses to load it. I set testsigning to Yes and rebooted before attempting to load it. Any idea why my system just doesn't want to cooperate?

In Event Viewer I can see 2 "Audit Failure" entries and 1 System Warning entry, related to TimeDefuser

It never worked for me on these old builds either. I have to "disable driver signature enforcement" from F8 menu at boot for making it work.

Still doesn't work. I did sc query TimeDefuser and the output is:

Try devcon remove root\TimeDefuser before installing again, and also check if expiration date exists on winver.

Still does not load. The expiration date is still there... i will think, maybe there is some black magic that will help to load the driver.

But now the exit code changed to 577 - digital signature verification failure

I tried to install Windows SDK but made a spectacular full-fledged failure. I think that's enough for me as of today. I'll try more tomorrow. Hopefully while sleeping I'll get any idea, who knows... anyways, thank you for being here to help 🫡
