Extra details

I've tried to update HA first throug homeassistant-update.sh script, it went fine but HACS was not working, as I can't make it work, I tried to reinstall HA but no I face that error once reinstalled, and HA is not starting.

Does this happened because of the dropt support of HA Core version on 2025.12?

Yes an upstream bug (incompatible dependency release, which was not pinned in HA), solved here: home-assistant/core#159076
Just stumbled above the same. Until next HA release, you need to add the last two lines of this block in dietpi-software:

HACS works for me. Does it show up in your integrations list already? Maybe remove and re-add or so, or does the error appear when you try to add it?

Yes it shows up, and it puts below Not loaded. I have tried everything, disabling hacs and restarting and enabling again, deleting hacs folder, and running the hacs script again, and the same result.

If I go to the previous version I have backed up it works fine. I never faced this issue before...

The HACS installer will have issues to find the correct directory, unless you navigate to the correct dir before calling it. And if it runs in any error (and it hides unzip errors), it deletes HACS, which maybe is the issue in your case. It is not needed to call their installer since dietpi-software always installs it freshly.

Check whether this file exist, since that is what HA is looking for:

ls -l /mnt/dietpi_userdata/homeassistant/custom_components/hacs/manifest.json

If it does not exist, run this:

cd /tmp
wget 'https://github.com/hacs/integration/releases/latest/download/hacs.zip'
unzip hacs.zip -d hacs
sudo chown -R 'homeassistant:homeassistant' hacs
sudo rm -Rf /mnt/dietpi_userdata/homeassistant/custom_components/hacs

I did these commands to reinstall hacs, I checked after and the folder was on custom_components as before.

sudo -u homeassistant -s
wget -O - https://get.hacs.xyz | bash -
exit

The file manifest.json was before and after the reinstall also.

Hmm on 21:48 is still says:

We found a custom integration hacs

along with a bunch of other custom integrations. On 22:28 it says:

Unable to get manifest for integration hacs

for all of them, and on subsequent requests does not mention any custom integration at all.

Are permissions for the /mnt/dietpi_userdata/homeassistant/custom_components correct, i.e. is it owned by homeassistant user? And is /home/homeassistant/.homeassistant a symlink to /mnt/dietpi_userdata/homeassistant?

I guess a dietpi-software reinstall 157 will fix it, but could be interesting to find out what exactly went wrong, and whether the HACS installer was probably causing it, if so how.
